Did you know there are actually more black men working and/or getting an education than there are in jail.

 

No I guess you didn’t because we’re not televised.

 

Did you know there are a lot of black men in this nation who are actually raising families by themselves.

 

No I guess you didn’t because we’re not televised

 

Did you know when the revolution comes it will be caused by black men who have mastered the system rather than fought it?

 

No I guess you didn’t because we’re not televised

 

Did you know that a black man can hurt as well as anyone else but the warrior inside will not allow them to show it?

 

No I guess you didn’t because we’re not televised

 

Did you know there are black men with nice houses that don’t have to show them on BET Cribs and didn’t get them by calling every woman he sees a bitch or a ho?

 

No I guess you didn’t because we’re not televised

 

Have you taken a look at the black men you work with and noticed that most of them go about their business in a quiet manner and that they can be doctors, lawyers, accountants, preachers and teachers?

 

I hope you have and if you haven’t please do

 

Don’t you remember the old folks in your family saying, “The squeaky wheel always gets the oil.”  And do realize the reason why we, the other wheels don’t get oil is because we don’t need it?

 

No I guess you didn’t because we don’t squeak and therefore we’re not oiled or televised

 

Did you know that the passion of the black man is so great that it can sometimes rival the sun which is why we attract the attention of the media with our style, walk and talk?

 

Yeah they always televise that part.

 

Did you know that no matter what type of job or education a black man has, a lot of women (black and white) will still clutch their purses tight when we get on the elevator with them?

 

No I guess you don’t because hopefully your not one of those women.

 

Did you know that when a real black man loves you he does it with all his heart and soul and will move heaven and earth to keep you from harm?

 

If you don’t please keep looking until you find him it will be worth your time.  But keep in mind he won’t be televised.
